Swagelok Hand Torque Flanged Essentials
Course Aims
This ½ day course provides attendees with the knowledge and hands on practical experience to correctly tighten flanged connections using hand torque tools.
Target Audience
Technicians, maintenance and engineering personnel involved in the installation, maintenance, inspection of bolted connections.
Course Content
- Safety considerations working with bolted connections
- Flange types and gasket knowledge
- Understanding bolt grades, sizing and selection
- Principles of torque, friction and lubrication
- Correct bolt tightening sequence
- Bolting terminology
- Correct use of hand torque wrench
- Practical exercises including – safe disassembly, flange and fastener inspection, assembly and tightening
- Knowledge test

Certification
Swagelok Certificate of Completion - valid for 3 years.
